This week I:
- Established Classroom Expectations
- Handed out Figurative Language Booklet - each student adds the terms discussed in class and provides the definition and example -
they keep these in their binder.
- Set up binders according to the following 5 dividers:
Grammar and Conventions (this is work on spelling, sentence structure, punctuation and other writing conventions)
Journaling and Jotting Things Down (quick writes)
Readings (usually Poetry and Short Story)
Work in Progress (writings that need to be edited over the course of time)
Completed work (reserved for work that has been submitted for evaluation)
- Had students complete "Who I Am" - submitted this personal reporting as I read these to understand students strengths and areas of need.
- Had students work on Selfie project - a visual of who they saw themselves to be at the start of Grade 10 English - to be submitted for evaluation.
