Week 5 - English 9
Monday - Queen's Funeral - school is to add 2 minutes to the beginning of 1st period class in order to make up the time lost from this event.
Tuesday - Finished reading "How to Tell Renata" last week and we are working on the One Pager that illustrates students' understanding of various literary components.
One Pager will cover these components:
Author, Title in one box: Contrast/Juxtaposition: Symbols (x2): Foreshadowing: Setting (Time, Place and Mood
Wednesday - One Pager again! Did have a little chat about homework and expectations of completing one's work in a timely manner!!!
Thursday - Poetry readings - discussed anthology; how to read poetry; moving toward Poetry Project.
Friday - Poetry with a specific look at motif which are words, ideas or images repeated throughout the piece in order to assist the author present theme! Can be similar to symbol but not.
Will read and annotate "Keys to the Kingdom" by Ed Reed.
