Free Reading: we are completing the genre of Mystery and have started Historical Fiction. 
Sentence Construction - exploring the 4 components of a sentence: begin with a capital letter, end with end punctuation, subject, and predicate - I am really drilling down on these details. The Simple Sentence
Subject = nouns (common, proper, collective and abstract)
Predicate = active and auxiliary verbs - students had to learn the 23 auxiliary verbs using a mnemonic
Sentence Construction - 4 types of sentences (declarative, imperative, exclamatory, interrogative)
Inferencing - a basic Reading Comprehension Skill - introduced and practiced
